Microsoft File Transfer Manager – timeout error

Posted on February 19, 2008. Filed under: Fixes, Woes |

After all planets aligned, downloading from MSDN Subscription (with Microsoft File Transfer Manager) started failing with time out error. My colleague Deepak Pandey found a way and informed me to uncheck “HTTPS” in the options dialog.

So, uncheck the HTTPS option and restart the download. It should work.

It works direct after unchecking “HTTPS” in the options dialog. Note that one must close the FTM and restart the download. The question is why does it worked before inspite of the “HTTPS” was cheched and suddenly stoped works?!!! Thank you so much anyway for the tip.

hey, thanks. *sigh* Windows and Microsoft – restart is the tag line :)
